Prices and Turnaround for Translation and Legalisation

We have translated and legalised documents in Varna since 2004. In that time we have learned that two documents which look identical at first glance almost never cost the same. A German birth certificate is translated more quickly than the same certificate in Icelandic. A three-page diploma and a diploma with a fifteen-page transcript are two different orders. This is exactly why a fixed price list nearly always misses the real case, and why we would rather give you an exact price and turnaround in advance, free of charge.

What affects the price

• The language and how rare it is. Translation to and from widely requested languages such as English, German or Russian usually works out cheaper. For rarer languages there are fewer available sworn translators, and that pushes the price up.
• Volume. We count the volume in standard translation pages – 1,800 characters including spaces from the finished translation, not by the sheet of the original. A densely written sheet can come to more than one page, while a document with little text comes to less.
• Turnaround. The price also depends on how quickly you need the translation (see the turnaround section below).
• Type of service. Needing the translation alone is one thing; needing the translation together with legalisation and an apostille is another. With legalisation, the government fees and the certifications at the various institutions come on top of the translation.
• Specialist text. Legal, medical and technical documents call for a translator with the right terminology and more careful checking, and that affects the price too.

For example: translating a criminal record certificate into English is one thing, while translating and legalising a diploma with a long transcript in a rarer language is quite another. The price only means something once we have seen the actual document. Get in touch with us for a current quote.

Turnaround

We work at three speeds, depending on how urgent it is for you:

• Standard service – the usual turnaround under normal workload, and the best-value option when time isn't against you.
• Express service – a shorter turnaround for an additional charge, if you need the document sooner.
• Urgent service – for the pressing cases, when the translation has to be ready the same or the next working day. How far that is possible depends on the document.

Exactly how long it takes depends on the volume and the language, and with legalisation it also depends on the institutions that add the certifications and the apostille. They have their own timescales, which are outside our control, so we confirm each case individually.

How to get a quote

A quote commits you to nothing. Here is how we get to it:

1. Send or bring in the document. Email us a scan or a photo of it, or bring it to our office in Varna.
2. You receive a free quote. We look over the document and come back to you with a price and turnaround based on the language, the volume and the type of service.
3. You confirm. If the quote suits you, you confirm and we agree on payment and handover.
4. We get it done. We carry out the translation and, where needed, the whole legalisation and apostille procedure, after which you receive the finished documents.
